His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Birthday Celebration, 2009

Dear friends (Minnesota Tibetans),
TAFM cordially invites you all to participate in the celebration of H.H. the Dalai Lama's Birthday on Monday 6th July, 2009 at Long Lake Pavilion, Long Lake Regional Park, 1500 Old Highway 8, New Brighton, MN 55112
PROGRAM:
9:30 AM – Sangsol/Lhasol

10:30 AM – Tibetan national anthem, prayers and Shugtri Khata offering (Traditional Solja and Drasil - refreshments will be served)

10:35 AM – Address by TAFM President

10:40 AM – Address by TAFM Vice-President (50 years of H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama’s Leadership)

10:45 AM – Senator Amy Klobuchar’s message for the occasion read by Clara Haycraft,Constituent Services Advocate, Office of Senator Amy Klobuchar

10:50 AM – Tibetan Cultural show by TAFM Performing arts group (TAFM Deoghar and TCS students)

11:05 AM – Appreciation award to TAFM volunteers, recognition of outgoing and incomingTAFM Board Members and 2009 TAFM Scholarship recipient

11:10 AM – Area coordinator announcement

11:15 AM – Start of games and fun activities

12:30 PM – Lunch/ potluck

2:00 PM – Games and entertainment hosted by TWAMN and TAFM Executives.

3:00 PM – Welcome/recognition of new area coordinators

3:15 PM – Gorshey/Tibetan traditional folk dances and songs
Note: As usual table will be setup for Danglang Chatrel (Tibetan Green Book) and TAFM membership fees contribution. 2008 Madison Tenshug DVDs and other Tibet related DVDs will also be on sale at a discounted rate.
Special note: Ramsey County Parks and Recreation Department has Life Guard posted at the Long Lake from 12:00 pm (noon) until 8:00 pm. Parents are cautioned to take special notice and vigilance of their children during the event.
If possible kindly try a ride share (car-pool) to accommodate maximum number of vehicles in the assigned parking area.
Features: The long Lake Pavilion has 54 fixed picnic tables. The pavilion area has volleyball court, ball field and a large children’s play area.
