Job Announcement

Position: Program Officer

Salary:$15.00 hourly

Work hours: Part time (Mon; Wed; Fri; & Sat- 9AM-3PM). In addition this position will be Paid an extra 6hrs each week to compensate volunteer hours spent during events.

Location: 1096 Raymond Ave, Saint Paul, Minnesota-55108, USA

Job description and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative leadership, manage and maintain the TAFM office and TCCC facility.

  • Initiate fundraising projects and develop programs, collect contributions which includes TAFM membership fees, Green Book contributions and tuition fees in coordination with respective sub-committees.

  • Assist in financial management of the organization under the direction of TAFM Board.

  • Provide staff personnel management working closely with Accountant and Custodian.

  • Oversee and coordinate functions of the sub-committees and promote good public relations.

  • Manage timely update of Website contents working closely with TAFM Web Master.

  • Develop and maintain calender of events and facility bookings.

  • Participate in TAFM board meetings and assist to execute its action plans.

  • Assist in all TAFM events.

  • Report to the President & board of Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota.

Requirements:

Administrative experience including programs development, supervision, fundraising and community relations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Tibetan and English. Knowledge of Tibet and Tibetan Affairs is required. Proven ability to communicate and to work effectively with a diverse group of people. An experience with program serving Tibetan community. Minimum college graduate or equivalent experience required. Basic computer skills using Word, Excel etcs and knowledge of Tibetan typing will be an asset. An applicant with a valid driving license will be given preference.

The candidate must have paid ‘Dhanglang Chatrel’ contribution and be willing to remain a TAFM member. He or She should be a legal US resident and authorized to work.
